What is the typical time for a mold to open/close in an injection molding process?
The mold is relatively small. It is only a 3 or 4 inch cube. Even a rough estimate will be fine. I’m looking for the time it takes the mold to open. And the time it would take to eject a simple part would be great too. I’m assuming it’s only a couple seconds but any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I don’t have the machine. This is for a school project.

Why not just power it up and time it for yourself?
The specifications sheet that came with the device should tell you.
Injection moulding cycle times differ a lot depending on the size of the press, mould, resin moulded, if you use an extraction robot, stack moulding, etc. etc. If your mould is a 4″ cube, then it is a tiny little thing that can be used as a paperweight
I would suppose that you would be running this on a small 5 or 10 ton press, so the times (approximate for a toggle press) would be:
Opening: 3 seconds
Ejection: 1 second (no robot, just simple ejection + gravity)
Closing: 2 seconds
Hope this helps.
